- March and April at Camp Tipton: One Body Ministry Meet your One Ministry Partner’s Mission Team Leaders during Mission Team Leader Orientation. Take this opportunity to get acquainted, review ministry plan details, visit ministry sites, share a meal at Camp Tipton, and unite in worship and prayer.
Job Descriptions
- Leadership positions:
- Church volunteer coordinator: Serve as point-of-contact with Project partners; introduce Project opportunities to your church and coordinate volunteer participation
- Home repair ministry escort: Accompany CBA HRM (local) Appraisal Team as a greeter for your church during pre-project assessments and project week, lead your church in ministry follow-up
- Day camp greeter: Greet and get acquainted with parents who pick up their children at conclusion of day camp from 4:15 - 5:15pm, Monday – Friday; utilize opportunity to connect church with camper families
- Weekend evangelism team escort: Accompany teams serving in resort hospitality projects; use digital camera and free water to interact with tourists at hospitality sites on Dragon and at trail heads
- VBS/BYBC coordinator: Serve as local church point-of-contact for VBS/BYBC events involving One Body
- Block party coordinator: Serve as local church point-of-contact for block party events
- Support positions:
- Home repair project leader: Work with CBA HRM Coordinator (Kelvin Kuwik) to lead/facilitate a HRM team in the completion of their project
- Home repair project runner: Use your truck to pick up and deliver materials to job site prior to and during completion of two or three projects
- Bus driver: Utilize school bus driver certification to drive a camp bus during one or more weeks of camp
- Bus chaperone: Provide support to camp staff/volunteers chaperoning children riding camp bus to/from day camps
- Block party helper: Serve as support person to team leading block party (equipment set-up and take-down, neighborhood announcements, cook-out, games helper)
- Meals and snacks helpers: Assist with mission team meals (breakfast & dinner), serve as runner to pick up day camper lunches at Mary Blount Elementary, prepare & distribute afternoon snack during day campers, prepare and deliver snacks to home repair mission teams
- Day camp crafts leader: Work with day camp staff/volunteers to facilitate crafts during day camps; share your testimony as you interact with children during craft time
- Camp Counselor(funded or volunteer):
- Summer Camp Counselor: A limited number of summer-long camp counselor positions are available. Applicants must have completed 16 or older, 2.0 GPA, and endorsement of your pastor/youth minister. Funded-positions require a ten week commitment. Volunteer positions will be considered for 2 – 4 weeks.
- Counselor-in-Training: Must be 15 or older, be recommended by your pastor/youth minister, and be willing to serve in a variety of support roles to camp counselors, kitchen workers, and custodial crew. Camp Tipton will employ up to three Counselors-in-Training in 2011. These introductory positions enable students to experience camp ministry, develop spiritual gifts and job skills, and establish a relationship with Camp Tipton placing them on a “short list” of future camp counselors.
